Dr. MATTEO CAPELLI

After graduating in Dentistry in Milan, Matteo Capelli took his first steps in endodontic practice, a clinical activity in which in-depth knowledge of the anatomy of the tooth, as well as patience, precision, attention to almost maniacal detail, play a fundamental role in the success of the therapy. Preparation and skill in the hands are therefore the qualities on which the young graduate has decided to base his specialization.

Once the centers of excellence were identified, Capelli left for the United States to perfect his technique in root canal therapy, facing increasingly complex cases. Including the so-called retreatments of devitalizations previously performed not exactly in a workmanlike manner. These interventions led him to use the high-level microscope combining it with extremely precise instrumentation, an indispensable combination to reach hidden areas of the oral cavity such as the channels where the nerves of the teeth are located. In deepening this practice, he gradually approached the surgical field at 360 degrees, widening his interest beyond endodontics. Focusing on the objective, Capelli has followed several stages of oral surgery in important US research centers, becoming an accredited specialist in implantology and bone reconstruction interventions as well as those concerning tissues (gums and mucous membranes). In the United States he has also cultivated an interest in all the avant-garde of regenerative and biotechnological surgery, such as the use of stem cells to promote bone grafts and the growth of mucous tissues.

After returning to Italy, Matteo Capelli began to collaborate with hospital research centers such as the Dental Clinic of the Galeazzi Orthopedic Institute, which belongs to the University of Milan and where some of the luminaries of oral implantology operate, including Tiziano Testori. And where Capelli still performs highly complex surgical operations.

In addition to having a vast production of publications to his credit, Capelli is a member of associations devoted to surgery and endodontics (SICOI and SIE) but also of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, which has recently seen him work - as a local chairman - with Stefano Gracis, during his presidency of the EAED, in the organization of the scientific congress held in Milan.

The long-standing militancy in implant surgery has fostered the collaboration of Capelli with some of the main manufacturers of prosthetic implants, which rely on him to develop and refine new types of abutments capable of responding to patients' problems.

Capelli's competence is then put at the service of young colleagues in surgery courses with highly appreciated practical internships and, above all, in live surgery sessions, during which the DentalBreraClinic operating room welcomes the cameras, to show live the intervention on a patient. The last live lessons were performed in connection with France and Japan, demonstrating Matteo Capelli's reputation and the ability to move in unison with the entire DentalBreraClinic team, who is involved in organizing the back stage on these occasions and in assistance. A close-knit orchestra in great harmony with an impeccable direction.
