Interview and visit

Getting started: listening and collecting data

The Silver Project starts with an interview with the therapeutic coordinator and a first visit made by the owners of DentalBreraClinic, assisted by a team of specialists.

The interview takes place in a private room. The patient is welcomed by the therapeutic coordinator, a dentist who, using the narrative technique, listens to the medical history taking note of the patient's needs: the clinical approach is integrated with an empathic approach that includes the psychological dimension of the patient. The therapeutic coordinator collects the documentation brought by the patient (for example, the latest clinical analyzes carried out), inquires about the medications he takes, his lifestyle and his eating habits. Throughout the course of treatment, the coordinator maintains contact with the doctors who are treating the patient and, if necessary, with family members.

At the end of the interview, the therapeutic coordinator accompanies the patient to the operating room for the first visit. This is done by dr. Stefano Gracis (specialist in dental prosthesis) and by dr. Matteo Capelli (specialist in periodontal and implant surgery), assisted as needed by the oral pathologist and the nutritionist of the Silver Project team.

To ensure an in-depth clinical investigation that covers both oral and general health of the patient, a protocol has been developed which integrates the collection of data reported in the medical history sheet with information regarding the patient's health, such as nutrition and any in progress systemic pathologies. The survey also provides for the patient to complete the dental history and self-assessment questionnaire, useful for monitoring aspects related to the dental condition and the impact it has on daily life in terms of comfort, performance, discomfort in chewing etc. The salivary test completes the initial diagnostic activity.
